Meet Reid
Reid Henson holds a special place in the story of High Handy Caps.
He was the first Staff Player ever selected to represent Team HHC and became part of our inaugural Charter Member Class of 2025.
Before there was a roster, there was Reid.
Golf has always been a big part of the Henson family. Reid’s older brother played collegiately at Reinhardt University and is now a golf professional at Cartersville Country Club. His parents, Billy and Lori Henson, have been behind him every step of the way.
That foundation shows up in the way Reid approaches the game.
As a freshman in 2025, Reid helped Cartersville High School capture the GHSA Class 4A State Championship. One year later, the Hurricanes did it again, giving Reid back-to-back state championships in his first two high school seasons.
Reid also finished T2 individually at the 2026 State Championship and earned Class 4A All-State honors.
His success hasn’t been limited to high school golf.
Reid finished T7 at the 2026 GSGA Georgia Junior Championship, shooting 5 under par over three rounds. That performance earned him a spot on Team Georgia for the Georgia–South Carolina Junior Challenge Match at Augusta Country Club, where Team Georgia went on to earn an 8–4 victory.
On the AJGA circuit, Reid has continued to test his game against some of the best junior golfers in the country, including a T5 finish at the Vaughn Taylor Championship and a T6 finish at the AJGA Huntsville Junior.
He has also found success on the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour. In 2025, Reid won his age group at the SJGT event at Columbus Country Club and finished fourth overall.
It is already an impressive résumé.
But the résumé isn’t why Reid was our first choice.
We chose him because of the way he competes, the way he carries himself and the way he represents his family, his teammates and the game.
When we started building Team HHC, we wanted players who understood that who you are between the shots matters just as much as what you shoot.
Reid represented that before Team HHC even had a roster.
Talent gets our attention. Character earns the invitation.
And Reid earned the first one.
